Tackle & Books

Tackle and Books is a retail shop in the town of Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. Mull is the third largest island in the Hebrides with a striking coastline over 300 miles long that is broken by sea lochs, white sandy bays and deep inlets. This is a world of rocky mountain and heather moorland, yet, unexpectedly, many glens and sheltered hillsides support lush, green mixed woods of ancient trees and shrubs.

One such place is Tobermory. Regularly voted the most beautiful small town in Scotland, Tobermory faces the sun from the south and overlooks a stunning bay. Tackle & Books is situated right on the seafront with otters, dolphins, porpoises and seals having been seen from our windows! Since being established in 1975 this spectacular situation has made Tackle and Books one of the most photographed shops in Scotland.

In the interior Tackle & Books has made careful use of the original shop fittings and features. In the past the shop has been a butcher, a baker, a chemist and a grocer. The chemist's oak cupboards, draws and counter look wonderful today.
